Activities and facilities
At the campsite:
Swimming pool with separate children's pool.
- Children's playground.
- Fresh bread daily.
- Goat's-cheese maker (calls once a week).
- Butcher (calls once a week).
- Fresh trout and salmon on the campsite once a week.
- Tennis are available within walking distance of Les Sapins.
- Activities for the under 13s (treasure hunts, play afternoons).
- Little café and terrace.
- snacks, pizzas, tapas available.
In the area :
- Walking. Long-distance footpaths GR107 and GR7B – also known as the
Sentier Cathare or Chemin des Bonhommes – pass very close to Les Sapins. There are also many other walks in the area. These are a perfect way to discover the spectacular local wildlife (see "Nature").
- Cycling. Only for the fit! There are many beautiful ATB routes of varying degrees of difficulty in the area. For racing cyclists, there are mountain passes in several categories nearby. The Tour de France is in the area ech year.
- Rafting, canoeing.
- Fishing in the river (trout, salmon).
- The Cathar strongholds and Carcassonne (see "Culture"), and the museums of Cathar history in Quillan and Montségur.
- Ax-les-Thermes (thermal baths), Andorra, Quillan, Perpignan and Toulouse.
- Prehistoric caves and the Parc pyrénéen de l’Art préhistorique (see "Nature").
- Markets selling local produce in nearby villages.
- Skiing. The Plateau du Saquet at Ax-Bonascre, the Plateau de Beille, Ascou-Pailhères, the Col de Chioula and at the small ski resort of Camurac is only 500 metres from Les Sapins.
